Why Pricing in Indian Influencer Marketing Is Confusing
Unlike advertising on Google or Meta where prices are transparent and auction-based, influencer marketing pricing in India is highly inconsistent. Two creators with identical follower counts might quote ₹2,000 and ₹20,000 for the same type of content.
This guide provides realistic pricing benchmarks based on market data so you know what to expect before negotiating.

YouTube Mid-Roll Mention (60–90 sec segment in existing video)
Usually 40–60% of the dedicated video rate for the same creator.
What Affects Pricing
Several factors push prices above or below these benchmarks:
Niche premium — Finance, crypto, and tech creators typically charge 2–3× more than lifestyle creators with the same following because their audiences have higher purchasing power.
Engagement rate — A creator with unusually high engagement can justifiably charge more. Use the formula: does the price make sense given how many people will actually see and engage with the content?
Usage rights — If you want to use the content in your own ads, expect a 50–100% premium on the base rate.
Exclusivity — If you want the creator to not work with competitors during a period, this adds cost.
Product complexity — A simple product showcase costs less than a tutorial or transformation video that requires more effort.
How to Calculate if a Quote Is Fair
A useful back-of-envelope calculation:
> Cost per Engaged Person = Price ÷ (Followers × Engagement Rate)
Example: A creator charges ₹8,000 for a Reel. They have 80,000 followers and 4% engagement.
- Engaged audience per post = 80,000 × 0.04 = 3,200 people
- Cost per engaged person = ₹8,000 ÷ 3,200 = ₹2.50 per engaged person
Compare this across multiple creators to find the best value.
Negotiating Rates
It is completely normal to negotiate with creators, especially on your first collaboration or for bulk orders.
What works:
- Offer a long-term partnership (3–6 month retainer) in exchange for lower per-post rates
- Offer free product in addition to payment
- Ask for a package deal (Reel + 2 Stories) at a bundled rate
What to avoid:
- Do not offer "exposure" instead of payment — established creators will decline
- Do not lowball significantly below market rate — it damages the relationship before it starts
Platform Fees
Booking through Sokhey Media includes a 10% platform fee on top of the creator's price. This covers payment protection (escrow), content verification, dispute resolution, and the managed marketplace infrastructure.
For reference: most international influencer marketing platforms charge 15–25% fees. Sokhey Media's 10% is among the lowest in the market.
